The Story of One Water Toys
How Amor Jiménez Chito transformed a vision into reality, creating a new way to experience the sea
The Origins: A Designer with a Vision
The story of One Water Toys begins with Amor Jiménez Chito, a talented yacht designer based in Malaga, Spain. With a background in Industrial Design Engineering from Nebrija University in Madrid and a master’s degree in Design & Transport from Coventry University in the UK, specializing in yacht design, Jiménez had already collaborated with prestigious studios like Coase Design, working on interiors and exteriors of yachts and superyachts for brands like Sunseeker.
But during his daily work as a yacht designer, Amor noticed a significant change in boating culture. Younger owners were challenging the industry to redefine the layout and functionality of vessels, with emerging trends like Explorer Yachts and the growing popularity of water toys like Seabobs.
The Insight that Changed Everything
It was precisely by observing these trends that Jiménez asked himself a crucial question: how could these trends reshape the entry-level segment of the market? The answer he found was clear: there was an evident gap in the market, and he decided to fill it.
“I noticed there was a growing demand for experiences over pure luxury,” explains Jiménez. “I identified an opportunity to enrich the lifestyle of jet ski owners, allowing others to come aboard and share the experience.”
Thus was born the concept of the ONE 16: an innovative platform that transforms a jet ski into a six-meter vessel capable of accommodating up to six people, bridging the gap between the high-speed thrill of a jet ski and the shareable pleasure of a boat.
A brave choice: 100% Made in Spain
Once the concept was defined, Amor Jiménez Chito made a bold decision: to create a product entirely made in Spain, from design to engineering to production. This choice represented not only a commitment to quality but also a bet on Spanish manufacturing excellence.
To realize this vision, Jiménez through his studio Loveworks Design surrounded himself with the best talents in the Spanish nautical sector:
Visma Naval Architects from Cadiz handled the vessel’s engineering, meticulously optimizing weight distribution and the interaction between the hull and the jet ski. “We designed the boat and the coupling between the jet ski and the hull, keeping the waterlines intact and avoiding unnecessary resistance,” explains Manuel Viseras, CEO of Visma Naval Architects.
Production was entrusted to KDKomposites from Malaga, a renowned name in the sailing industry. “The biggest challenge was producing a boat with the exact draft, to ensure easy connection with the jet ski, and of course ensuring the optimal buoyancy and stability required,” says Oscar Bustos, CEO of KDKomposites and former professional sailor.
From Prototype to Perfection: The Refinement Process
After launching the first prototype in 2024, the team conducted thorough testing to perfect usability, ergonomics, and performance. But Jiménez wanted more than just technical tests: he wanted to understand how people actually used this innovation.
“Beyond technical testing, we chartered the boat to gather real insights into how users interact with this innovative solution,” explains the designer. “Being neither a traditional jet ski nor a conventional boat, we wanted to ensure that users could intuitively understand how to operate this new way of boating.”
During the summer, two units were chartered in Sotogrande and Puerto de la Duquesa, allowing the team to observe how people moved aboard, how easy it was to connect and disconnect the jet ski, which seating areas were preferred, and how different groups used the boat in different ways.
The feedback collected led to significant modifications, such as resizing the bow table to improve circulation on deck. Particularly appreciated were the slide that houses the jet ski (which becomes a small pool when the jet ski is disconnected) and the Flexiteek synthetic teak deck.
The improvements were so significant that the team decided to rename the updated model ONE 16 Evo, reflecting its evolution into a more refined, user-friendly, and high-performing product. The adoption of vacuum infusion technology reduced the boat’s weight by over 200 kilograms, improving handling, speed, and fuel efficiency.

International Recognition
The hard work and dedication of Amor Jiménez Chito did not go unnoticed. The ONE 16 won the Gold Award in the Yacht and Marine category at the A’ Design Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions in industrial and product design.
“Receiving this Gold Award at the A’ Design Awards means much more than recognition for the boat’s design,” Jiménez stated. “It’s a validation of our innovation process, our constant search for new ideas, and our passion for creating something that truly connects with people.”
The jury motivated the award by explaining: “The ONE 16 Evo is destined to be an award-winning and trendsetting platform. It creates intense feelings of desire, evokes passion, encourages creativity, and fascinates us.”
International media such as Forbes and Designboom have also highlighted One Water Toys as one of the emerging brands redefining how people experience the sea.
The Debut at Valencia Boat Show
The culminating moment came with the global debut of the ONE 16 Evo at the Valencia Boat Show, held from October 22 to 26. “We’re happy to finally unveil this project at a boat show,” said Amor Jiménez Chito. “The goal of the ONE 16 is to attract new enthusiasts to boating, and we believe the Valencia Boat Show is the ideal place to showcase it.”
The Vision of One Water Toys
One Water Toys S.L., founded by Amor Jiménez Chito, is a dynamic Spanish company dedicated to creating water toys that redefine how we experience the sea. Focused on an audience eager for new experiences, one of the brand’s main objectives is to introduce more people to boating by designing products that genuinely respond to the needs and lifestyle of new generations.
The company’s flagship model, the ONE 16, embodies this vision: a versatile platform that combines the power and freedom of a jet ski with the stability, comfort, and aesthetics of a six-meter dayboat. The ONE 16 adapts to multiple uses, from professional rental to private ownership, allowing people to enjoy the sea together and in style.
With a starting price of €40,000, the ONE 16 Evo offers an accessible entry point to boating, available in a wide range of vibrant, customizable colors. The platform is plug-and-play, requiring only one minute to connect the jet ski to the hull, and is compatible with major brands like Seadoo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.
Looking to the Future
The story of One Water Toys is the story of a visionary designer who dared to challenge the conventions of the nautical industry. Amor Jiménez Chito didn’t just create a product: he created a new way to experience the sea, making boating more accessible, shareable, and exciting for a new generation of enthusiasts.
Currently, three ONE 16 Evo units are available for sea trials in Puerto de la Duquesa and Sotogrande, offering dealers, clients, and rental companies the opportunity to experience this new vision of the sea firsthand.
As Jiménez himself said: “Our goal is to introduce more people to boating, designing products that genuinely respond to the needs and lifestyle of new generations.” A mission that, with the ONE 16 Evo, is becoming reality.
